Listed below is an update on some families we have been helping since our last report.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
While many of the checks we write cover rent and mortgages each month, below are a few examples of some of the other expenses the Foundation has been asked to pay during this first quarter of 2026.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Lila\u2019s social worker describes her as a sweet 3-year-old girl who was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. She had scheduled and unscheduled admissions as well as outpatient appointments as a part of her treatment. Both Lila\u2019s parents were on unpaid leave during her treatment and were really having difficulty paying their bills with their limited income. In addition, their cooling system broke and they needed a system replacement. The Musser Foundation was able to cover this expense so that the family could focus on paying their other monthly bills and more importantly spend time with their daughter during a very difficult time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Brayden was diagnosed with stage 4 metastatic neuroblastoma when he was just 2 years old. He began intensive treatment which included in-patient admissions for chemotherapy, followed by autologous stem cell transplants. The financial need was great, and The Musser Foundation was able to help with 2 mortgage payments. This situation was intense due to the unforeseen urgency and ongoing nature of this child\u2019s treatment. During this difficult time the chimney needed extensive repair to keep the heating system active. We were able to provide financial assistance to pay for this repair. The family was able to focus on ensuring the best possible care for Brayden during this critical time, and the support provided was deeply appreciated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Transportation is of the utmost importance when caring for your child with pediatric cancer. There are Doctor appointments, treatments and hospital stays. Jatziel is a 4-month-old baby boy who was diagnosed with spindle cell rhabdomyosarcoma. Due to complications from his tumor, Jatziel was inpatient from birth. Mom could not return to work due to caring for her child. The family was significantly impacted financially and needed help. The Musser Foundation was able to provide car payments for this family. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The previous three paragraphs tell the story of some of what\u2019s been requested from the Foundation before the first quarter of 2026. You can also add a used auto purchase, quite a few overdue utility bills and many rental and mortgage payments. 2026 got off to another fast start for us. To date we have helped 35 families and written more than 75 checks to help families with their bills. We\u2019re confident, though, we can keep pace with the requests sent to us given your history of generosity to the Jeff Musser Foundation. We thank you for your continued support!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
