To All of Our Supporters,

Each story touches our hearts, and we are grateful to be a part of supporting these families.  We serve families in Pennsylvania like Reading, Columbia, Harrisburg, Philadelphia, West Grove to Elkton, MD.  We work with social workers from CHOP, PSH and Nemours Children’s hospitals.

Listed below is an update on some families we have been helping since our last report.

We were contacted about Elliot several months after his diagnosis of high-risk acute lymphoblastic leukemia.  He also has a diagnosis of Down’s syndrome.  He lives with his parents and his younger sister.  The family was at risk of losing their home due to Elliot’s illness taking a great deal of the parent’s time and energy spent with him in the hospital.  They are an incredible family, and the foundation was able to provide rent payments that freed them up to be with their son and helped them keep their family homestead.

Tamara is an 11-year-old girl who was diagnosed with Chronic Myeloid Leukemia this year.  She had both scheduled and unscheduled admissions as part of her treatment.  Tamara also received a Bone Marrow Transplant.  Mom is raising 4 other children in addition to Tamara and was unable to work as she had to stay home with her family during this time.  We were able to assist the family with utility payments as well as 4 months of rent.

The families we are asked to assist are just like most families, working hard to make ends meet and to manage the parents’ work schedules and school or day care schedules of their children.  Little Nova is an 8-year-old girl that was diagnosed with a brain tumor over a year ago.  She has undergone surgery for resection of her tumor and multiple rounds of inpatient chemotherapy and 6 weeks of proton radiation.  This put a strain on the family finances as mom had to take time off work during Nova’s treatments.  We were able to provide 3 months of rent for this family, which was a huge help to Nova and her family.

As you can see, the scope of the Foundation’s assistance continues to range from the expected payment of rent or mortgage, auto loan payments and utility bills to paying funeral expenses.  We thank the many folks who joined us for our annual Cadillac Dinner several weeks ago that helped us raise funds so we can keep pace with the increasing need for assistance we’re seeing in our community this year.

If you participate in Lancaster’s ExtraGive, this year’s event will be on Friday, November 21, 2025. The event is Lancaster County’s largest day of online giving and features an online fundraising period with matching funds from sponsors to support local non-profit organizations.

We truly appreciate all your continued support!

Most sincerely,

The Board and Volunteers of the Jeff Musser Foundation
