To All of Our Supporters,
As I began working for The Jeff Musser Foundation in January, I was truly amazed at the different areas of support and financial assistance the foundation supporters give to families. Everything from payments for mortgages, rentals, utilities, auto needs and many other areas that allow families to support their children through very difficult times.
Listed below is an update on some families we have been helping during this first quarter of 2025.
A social worker approached us requesting help for this family. Harmony is a 5-year-old girl who was diagnosed with Langerhans cell histiocytosis (LCH) in November 2024. At the time of diagnosis her scans showed disease progression into her cervical spine, and she started chemotherapy. She is currently still receiving active treatment. Harmony resides at home with her mother and three siblings. Her mother is a single mother and during Harmony’s treatments and hospitalizations her mother missed work and has had lost wages. Recently, the family’s vehicle broke down and was no longer deemed safe to drive. The Musser Foundation was able to help this family purchase a reliable vehicle, allowing her mother to get Harmony to medical appointments and to be able to continue to travel to her employment.
Bryleigh’s cancer journey tragically ended on February 8, 2025. Bryleigh was 14 years old when she was diagnosed with osteosarcoma in April 2023. She received inpatient chemotherapy and surgery for tumor resection and limb salvage. Bryleigh lived with her mother and 5-year-old brother; however her father was also involved with her care. Their financial needs were great, and the Musser Foundation stepped in to pay mortgage payments and utilities during her treatment. In the end, the Musser Foundation helped with funeral costs as the family honored her life and battle.
We began supporting Cindyaliz’s family when she was 16 years old. She was diagnosed with metastatic osteosarcoma in 2022, and underwent chemotherapy, leg salvage surgery, and removal of a lung nodule. She was treated with chemotherapy for several years. Due to the long length of her illness and continued care needs they struggled financially. The Jeff Musser Foundation was able to help them with the needed vehicle repairs and monthly rent for this family.
These three families give you a glimpse of how the Musser Foundation relieves the financial burdens of those impacted by pediatric cancer as the first quarter of 2025 ends. The year got off to a quick start as expenditures to the families for January 2025 exceeded January 2024 expenses by 33%. Please join us on June 16, 2025, at our biggest fundraiser by playing golf or joining us for our social hour and auction at the Musser Golf Classic. Information will be coming soon either via your email or on our website at TheJeffMusserFoundation.org. We are grateful for your continued support of our mission.
Most sincerely,
The Board and Volunteers of the Jeff Musser Foundation
