To All of Our Supporters,

Usually, the updates we send to you provide a brief summary about five of the families the Foundation has assisted.  Because of the type of work we do, we’re fortunate to be able to see the tangible results your contributions help us to make.  In this month’s Update to Supporters, we’d like to give you an overview of some of the things your generosity has accomplished.

During calendar year 2021, the Foundation will have supplied 126 months of mortgage or rental assistance for 31 families!  In addition, we helped to purchase a mobile home so a family could move to our area to be closer to extended family and medical care at Penn State Children’s Hospital.  Keeping families in their homes during periods of financial crisis is a top priority for the Foundation and you helped to make that happen with your ongoing support.

Another critical need for the families we serve is reliable transportation for the many hospital visits necessary in the treatment of cancer and its many complications.  During 2021, the Foundation supplied down payments for six vehicles, purchased one auto, paid for major repairs for two family cars and made a total of 26 auto loan payments.  Gas gift cards were provided for families who needed them.

In addition to the above support, the Foundation was able to cover a multitude of other expenses.  A non-operational HVAC system was replaced for a family whose daughter needed a healthy environment at home.  Furniture and a refrigerator were purchased, grocery gift cards were provided, many utility bills were paid, and discounted hotel expenses were covered for parents who needed to temporarily stay in Philadelphia while treatment was provided for their child at CHOP.

During the summer of 2021, the Jeff Musser Foundation reached a noteworthy milestone – the total amount of funds expended, since its inception, exceeded $2,000,000!  We thought it was important for you to know how vital your contributions are to the lives of the families we are asked to aid and how your dollars are being spent.

2021 has been another year of uncertainty and complications for many of the families we are asked to help. Despite all the challenges this year has placed in our way, many of you have continued to support us and the families we assist.  To those of you who may support us with your end-of-year contributions, or those of you who sent donations to support Lancaster’s Extra Ordinary Give, or supported our fundraisers, even without one of the events taking place, we humbly offer our most heartfelt thanks.  Our mission to support families with children battling cancer continues, regardless of what’s happening in the world around us.  We couldn’t do any of this without your support, so on behalf of all the families you’ve helped us assist this year, we thank you and wish you a blessed and healthy holiday season!

Most sincerely,

The Board and Volunteers of the Jeff Musser Foundation
